Welcome to Children's Healthy Smile Project, a 501(c)(3) non profit
Improve Children's oral hygiene and promote a healthy smile by providing oral hygiene supplies such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss and educational materials to children in need. See "Our Projects" page for more information.
Many disadvantaged children who lack good oral hygiene habits or dental care can have severe tooth decay and gum disease which may result in physical pain or discomfort. In many cases, this leads to low self-esteem and potentially significant health issues. Early intervention with education for both parent and child, plus basic oral hygiene supplies, can make a difference now and in the future. See: "The Facts" for more information.
For example, in the process of reaching out to Head Start organizations in the CA Central Valley, we realized the majority of families incomes are below the federal poverty level.
What We Can Do:
- Provide, age appropriate Dental Hygiene supplies, consisting of a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss or flossers
- Provide fun handouts such as dental themed comic books, reproducible master handouts
- Provide ADA booklets on children's dental health for parents
- Provide Head Start compliant teacher classroom kits
- Provide dental related children's textbooks in English and/or Spanish
- Provide teaching aids such as mask, bibs, children's role playing gear
- Support Grant applications
We do have limited funds and we will do our best to provide support.
We are pleased to be part of Toddler Royalty's "Project Loose Tooth". They have generously agreed to donate funds for Smile Kits for each "Loose-Tooth Pouch" they sell. The pouches are very cute, fun for children and makes losing a tooth a "rewarding" experience. If you are a parent or grandparent of a "Toddler" we would encourage you to check out "Project Loose Tooth" . Toddler Royalty Website
