Luzerne County Head Start

Children's Healthy Smile Project, supported by a grant from The Luserne Foundation, provided oral hygiene instructions, children's books and teacher aid support to the Luzerne County Head Start. Becky Zaneski, 2016 Miss Pennsylvania Collegiate America, volunteered to reach out to the both Pre and Head Start classrooms  to emphasize the importance of good oral hygiene habits.

Thank you Becky for your outstanding support of Children's Healthy Smile Project.

Community College of Denver, Dental Hygiene Clinic - Outreach Program

From Shanna S. - We presented to two classes and both were very engaged and even asked a lot of questions. At the end of the presentations we had a hands on learning portion where we had the students pull out their toothbrushes from their goody bags and practice so we could give input. We gave a pre and post test and found that their scores improved by 20%. It was a wonderful experience and we are excited to head to our next school this coming Friday.Thank you so much for your part in making this project such a success!

Lanier Primary School - Pembroke, GA

I am a Pre-K teacher at Lanier Primary School in Pembroke, GA. I am writing to find out how schools can get smile kits for their classrooms. My class is getting ready to start a unit on dental health in February for Dental Health recognition month and would love to have these kits for my students who a majority of come from low income families who could use this resource.

Thank you Janet M. for volunteering to support Children's Healthy Smile Project!
